Advent Calendar {Mixed Media Place}

Every year I prepare an advent calendar with lots of surprises for my kids. We wait for Christmas and spend plenty of time on creating Christmas tree ornaments. My kids love to receive small gifts. In the past our Christmas calendar was made of fabric – I have sewn a kind of board with lots of pockets. This year I decided to use paper bags and create tags with numbers – one for each day. I made everything double, because I have two kids 🙂

I have used several media – I love diversity. Some numbers were painted with red Acrylic Paint – Claudine Hellmuth paints have reach colors and great texture. The other numbers I have covered with Finnabair Soft Gloss Gel and then I have sprinkled some Finnabair Glass Glitter (Platinum) over them.

I wanted to add some sparks of light to my whole project, so I covered some numbers with Finnabair glitter from Crimson set. At first I applied Ranger Emboss It Clear Ink in a form of dabber, than I sprinkled Ranger Embossing Sticky Powder, I heat everything up and than I used Finnabair glitter.

My project is another idea for an Advent Calendar. I hope I have inspired you a little bit to create something for your beloved ones.

Here is the photo of “still in progress” version 🙂

And here is almost finished 🙂
